Fletcher Day’s exciting expansion of the family team
Fletcher Day is pleased to announce the appointment of three new solicitors to our family department. We are excited to expand our family team and for the possibilities it opens up, both for the firm and for our existing and prospective clients.
Siobhan Lomasney joins the family department as a Partner offering over 37 yearsâ€™ experience in family work and civil litigation. Her broad family practice includes divorce and the dissolution of civil partnerships, complex matrimonial and family financial claims, jurisdiction and cross border disputes, co-habitee disputes, disputed wills and claims against estates.
Siobhan acts for high net worth individuals, often with a public profile and is increasingly involved in complex matrimonial disputes involving children and/or with an international element.
Shameela Ahmed likewise joins Fletcher Day as a Partner in the family team. Shameela has been specialising in family law close to 15 years. She has a wealth of experience in dealing with multi-value, complex financial claims and private disputes over children.
Throughout her career, Shameela has worked extensively on financial settlements, jurisdictional issues, pre and post nuptial agreements, variation of child maintenance applications, enforcement of orders, appeals, child abduction and national and international relocation of children. She also has acted for unmarried couples and assisted them with financial and property claims and for same sex couples too. Shameela has acted for a variety of individuals from professionals to business entrepreneurs to T.V personalities.
Julius cross-qualified in Queensland in 2015 and is known for his down to earth and pragmatic approach to the cases he works on. He has co-authored an article in Family Law journal in 2013 and regularly contributes to Family Law blogs and topical Family Law discussions. He acts for a wide-range of clients who appreciate his down-to-earth approach and has been commended in the Legal 500 for his ‘sensible’ approach to matters.
