A team of golfers from Fletcher Day were delighted to have attended the Toni & Guy 11th Annual Charity Golf Day which took place on Wednesday 13th July 2017. Each year the Foundation raises money to support Stroke Association, Macmillan Cancer Support and Variety, the Children's Charity.
Stroke Association works to fund vital research to improve the treatment and care of those affected by stroke, whilst also providing support services to those who have suffered from stroke and their families helping them to live and re-build their lives.
Macmillan works to support people facing cancer from the minute they are diagnosed and onwards, helping to improve the lives of those facing cancer by providing an unbeatable level of advice, information and resources whilst also inspiring others to do the same.
Finally, Variety, the Children's Charity aims to raise vital funds for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children across the UK. They provide practical, tangible help that makes an immediate difference to those children and their families.
The event, which was held at Basingstoke Golf Club was attended by Chris Hill, Joshua Shuardson-Hipkin, Greg Barnbrook and Paula Abrahamian.
The team competed against 27 teams from across the county in a challenging round of 18 holes. Apart from one player taking several shots to clear the rough (no names mentioned) and several shots often being taken in bunkers, the team managed to enjoy a fine round of golf in the July sunshine.
A charity raffle was held at the end of the day to support the various charities.
