Nick Evans approached to comment by Daily Mail
Nick Evans, partner in Fletcher Day’s employment team, was approached this week for comment by the Daily Mail on the rights of Ryanair cabin crew employees.
Nick further added:
“A timely reminder by the Daily Mail that ‘sharp’ employment practices and unfairly ‘squeezing’ your workforce will ultimately cost the business – and not just in the gig economy.
Interestingly this expose was published as Ryanair finally decided to recognise trade unions for its pilots (and which they have now extended to cabin crew) and as the European Court has ruled (to no one’s great surprise – except Uber apparently) that Uber does indeed provide a transport service.
“No doubt we will see further developments on the theme of worker’s rights in 2018.”
