Partner - Employment & Sport

Before joining Fletcher Day, Nick Evans was a Partner in a City practice and a Director of Legal Services at a legal and people management consultancy.

In his current practice, Nick advises on all aspects of employment law and industrial relations including business protection/restrictive covenants, TUPE, discrimination, redundancy programs and claims. He also advises individuals, clubs and organisations in the sports sector on contractual issues, regulatory matters and other sports law issues.

Nick has significant expertise in the legal aspects of change management including mergers, acquisitions and restructures. He also has considerable experience in business protection arrangements, in the practical application of TUPE and has advised on large scale transactions in the public and private sectors including: pre-tender assessment and qualification, due diligence, indemnities and warranties, consultation and post-completion issues.

Nick's clients include Insurers, professional services firms, corporates and senior individuals from both the public and private sectors as well as sports men and women, sports clubs and organisations, managers, agents, and intermediaries.

Career Highlights

  • Previously, as Head of Employment at TfL, Nick led the in-house team advising on all the employment law and industrial relations aspects of the £7bn London Underground PPP and other PFI projects.

  • Nick is a former member of the CBI National Employment Law Panel and regularly presents for clients, professional organisations and the CIPD as well providing commentary for press and TV.
